After trimming, I put the design back under the needle upside down. That’s a great reason to mark your item with a “L” and/or a “R” if there might be a question. Starting again, I marked the L and R, but forgot to put down the bottom layer.
Here is the third mistake, which I was able to salvage and get right. No, I won’t be wasting the fabric in the first two mistakes. They will be turned into something else. And finally here is one finished flower.
The rest of the day went good, but I certainly feel like I spend hours learning – like Edison from mistakes. This has been a great quilt for learning.
Even though there were some minor speed bumps, your finished quilt is darling. Congrats on your 3rd finish. Hoping I can say the same by the end of the month, or before. I am subscribed and invite you to do the same for me, although I may not have as many interesting life experiences as you! lol
I have days like that! I’m always glad when I can salvage something from it, and especially when I can learn from it. Does that mean that I don’t make the same mistake again? Not usually! Makes for an interesting life!
Thanks for sharing your progress in digitizing and congratulations on a finish! EQ Stitch would give me similar results and there is a support group for the digitizing software. I must find some afternoons to devote to learning the program. I do like the results of hoop applique.
