Finished! I started with 68 stitches on #3 needles, but they seemed a bit small, so actually followed the pattern by using #5 needles. While the leg is so stretchy, there is quite a bit of leeway, the foot, had to be taken down a number of stitches to make it small enough. This is an 8 ply wool, I purchased in Australia, so is a bit thicker than I usually knit. They will probably be very comfortable in my boots.
