Busy, busy, busy

What is this life if, full of care

We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare. (W.H. Davies)

Sometimes I feel this quote describes me.    I feel driven to do all that I can.  I’ve been too busy to really enjoy my animals and I miss that.      So I’m going to try to slow down a bit and enjoy more time with the sheep, the hoop house garden and family.  The quilts and other items are needed, but others are also making them and together we do make a difference.

Yep, it’s important to stop and smell the flowere, too, even though there aren’t too many around at the moment. But there are lots of pretty leaves!

But maybe I could just do something that isn’t a necessity. The leaves are beautiful this time of year, and I can watch them drift.
