No, I don’t yet know how to drive this 4 wheel toy, but we have a farm helper that can do anything. He will be using it to seed, fertilize and in general do what we need done that we can’t do ourselves. Our piece of property is a lot of uphill/downhill terrain. I will learn to drive it, because if a sheep gets in trouble a way from the barn, I am not able to carry it, but I could load it and get help.

This Euro style scarf is finished. It was a fast and easy knit, however, I did learn that if I’m not paying attention, I don’t count accurately. The pattern is a multiple of 5, which isn’t hard, just had to pay attention. This is very, very soft in the Cascade yarn. I will block it later.
I’ve been knitting this euro cowl as I really like how the colors are moving in the scarf. I’m now about 1/3 done. The other nice thing is that one knits until the last 4 feet of yarn and then the bind off, so when you are done, you don’t have left over yarn either.

Most of the days are like this for most of us. Nothing remarkable – but mighty important to keeping the days going smoothly.
What if I didn’t change the vacuum bag or vacuum the rug? What if the bird cage didn’t get cleaned out, or the animals fed? What if the meals didn’t get made or the kitchen floor swept and the dishes done? How about the laundry – how long before someone notices we didn’t get it done – or the bathrooms cleaned?
What if the weeds next to the house didn’t get cut back or pulled? Or the plants – flowers and vegetables didn’t get watered?
What if I didn’t put gas in the car when it was getting low? Or what if I didn’t stop to speak to a family member, friend or neighbor?
Life would be pretty colorless and stinky. Yet, sometimes, when I come to communicate with you, I feel I have done nothing. I’m betting you look at some of your days the same way. Go back and answer the questions. Realize how important you are to keeping the wheels turning in your loved ones lives.
We are essential! Enjoy your specialness. We are blessed to have floors to clean and dishes to do and food to assemble and cook. We are indeed very blessed and I am so very thankful.
OK. I’ve been challenged to lose weight in June. I’ll take the challenge for 5#. It won’t be easy with my schedule. How many of you want to take the challenge with me, say so in the comments along with the amount you think you can remove, then July 1st we can see how we’ve done. You don’t have to give your weight and really 5# might be only half a dress size, but it would be a start. Let’s hold each others hands.
Are you in?
This is the a picture of the beautiful block from which I am making a quilt. It looks very complicated, but watch as I step through these steps.

Sew the piece to each side of the middle piece and press. Take note that you do not do the following:
It is very tempting to match the sides and that’s not going to work. So when you have them like the bottom piece, press and add
the top triangle. There are only the 4 pieces. Now reverse those colors to make the other half of this block
Make 4 of these simple blocks and you have a very complicated looking quilt piece. It is assembled in rows. Because it is summer, mine will be on the back burner a lot of the time, but it is really quite easy and I’d love to see in what colors you will make yours
My fall seeds are in the ground now for cauliflower, Brussels sprouts and cabbage. I planted a few green beans bush style on the left side. I think this year we will forget the pumpkins and squashes as we just didn’t get them done. I’m very happy with this now. The peas on the sides are nearly done, and I will replant for the fall. In the outside area (no photo), the potatoes and onions are coming up nicely.
This little lady greeted me when I entered the hoop house this morning.
Haltering babies: So much easier to tie them to the 2 x 4 and let them learn they aren’t in charge, than to let them pull you around.
