The Broken Arrow quilt is done!. It has been washed and dried and is ready for snuggles.

I joined Craftsy some time ago and purchased Joan Hawley’s class on “Zip it up” zipper techniques. This has to be the easiest zipper I have ever put in. I made this little “Runaround” bag to add to the tote for daughter’s birthday today. She loved both bags. Let me explain how being in a hurry helped – NOT!
First, because I watched the video awhile back, I didn’t bother to read the instructions or re-watch the video – that was the beginning of my hurry. So I put the zipper on-inside out, took it out, and started over. Glanced at instructions and put all the pieces together. then I sewed the strap to the inside, fixed that. Now, the outside back pocket is in the inside. And I knew better, but being in a hurry, I didn’t think. I just told her that I put a pocket inside. So much for a hurry. Please tell me you do things like this as well. I love reading your comments, which make me think we’re having a conversation.

After a delicious lunch of roasted potatoes, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, carrots, broccoli, and zucchini patties, I was almost too full to carry on with the day.

However, Mary came over – do you like those spiders? We went to Quality’s Sew Fun because we wanted free tickets to the Sew Expo in November and that was the gift for coming.

And we rather liked this apron display.

The program consisted mostly of various handbags and a few table runners and potholders. So we decided to go shopping at JoAnn’s where we found some giraffe print fleece for Mary’s new grandson (arriving in Jan). So now she and I each have another project. She will be making stuffed giraffes and I will make baby a quilt.

These 4 little raincoats just need little snaps down the front and they are done.

And you must be as tired of canning as I am. Today was 20 pints of split pea soup for DH. Often times, that is all he wants for his third meal. It makes life easier when he can just open a jar and heat the contents.
