The Broken Arrow quilt is done!. It has been washed and dried and is ready for snuggles.

I joined Craftsy some time ago and purchased Joan Hawley’s class on “Zip it up” zipper techniques. This has to be the easiest zipper I have ever put in. I made this little “Runaround” bag to add to the tote for daughter’s birthday today. She loved both bags. Let me explain how being in a hurry helped – NOT!
First, because I watched the video awhile back, I didn’t bother to read the instructions or re-watch the video – that was the beginning of my hurry. So I put the zipper on-inside out, took it out, and started over. Glanced at instructions and put all the pieces together. then I sewed the strap to the inside, fixed that. Now, the outside back pocket is in the inside. And I knew better, but being in a hurry, I didn’t think. I just told her that I put a pocket inside. So much for a hurry. Please tell me you do things like this as well. I love reading your comments, which make me think we’re having a conversation.

Mary and I spent about 5 hours learning this Scan and Cut machine. I found a quilt that has many small pieces to cut and applique and thought that if we conquered that, we’d be well on our way to mastering this machine. I was correct!. And so far, we have learned much, but not conquered the machine. We have to remember all the steps to be able to repeat them. We managed to get a few pieces cut out. The idea is to scan in a pattern or several and the machine will cut them out. Tomorrow, I’ll try and cut a few more out. The instructions had lots of missing bits of knowledge.

Then I took time to work on a pair of short summer socks.
