He is on the quilting machine and ready to go, but I have not been able to get the tension right today. I’m just giving up and will go knit for the next hour. Tomorrow, it may work like it is supposed to as I find sometimes walking away and coming back the next day works magic.
Dreamweaver from “Strip your stash” by Gudrun Erla and published by Stashbooks is now at the flimsy state. This is the lap size which measures 60 x 80 and consumes close to 11 yards of fabric. A good press, some backing fabric and this will be next on the quilting machine.

I am now at the point of having each row assembled. Next sewing time will get the rows sewn together and the flimsy will be done. I have made a note to myself to watch out for many seams that have to match. This top is just full of them which takes some of the fun away. So it’s not perfect, but close enough that after being quilted, they won’t stand out.
Just 7 more blocks and I can put this all together. I’m aiming to have it to the flimsy stage by Sunday.
The big garden now has some empty spaces from where the first potatoes, the onions and the garlic were planted. No, I’m not coördinated enough to have planted something else there this year.

It is a bit warmer today, but I’m not going to complain as I remember too well, what the cold days feel like. Instead after the produce harvest this morning, I spent some time in my studio which is a cooler basement area creating a few more blocks.

The Sew Fun this week was put on by Lana Jones. She comes up with ideas in her sleep – of which she doesn’t need much. These 3 signs used sticky metallic paper on boards and mounted denim. Aren’t they cute?
Using a piece of tile that she found at Lowes, she put metallic paper on these “rocks”. And they did look like flat rocks. This is such a wonderful way to give a little inspirational gift.
These are made of “Ice Resin” a product to pour in molds. These would make lovely jewelry or nice for key chains.

This is where she caught me. I loved this lightweight jacket you see in peach and black. And it can be made totally on the serger. So I will be looking for fabric to make this.
This book also had some fun projects and the items in this book have both the patterns you can cut out or if you have a Accuquilt, they have a die by Edyta Sitar to make them.
This “Buddy Blanket Bear” has only a stuffed head, so if a young child likes to take a huggie to bed, one could either hand or machine embroider on the open skirt.
After all this, I took a brief rest on the deck. Isn’t this a lovely view? It was such a pretty day. Tomorrow will be more garden time and maybe zucchini bread baking. Don’t hold your breath on that though.
It’s a START. This quilt pattern is also from “Strip your Stash” . And once again it is a large lap size. It is going a bit slow because I am cutting a lot of scraps as I go.
Can you see all the moss? We had someone out today to clean the roof and gutters. And the roof looks new again. Apparently, this fellow had an extra half day, and since he has done other work for us in the past, he had a lot to look at and show us as well. He loves showing off his high pressure sprayer, so he showed us how he can even weed with it That was interesting. Next week he will bring his big truck and take away all the garbage a farm can collect – rotting boards, pieces of fencing, it goes on.
Our morning visitors today. I had no idea what this little fellow was. His head is raspberry color. He is a purple finch. Our most frequent visitors are goldfinch and black headed grosbeak.
I was able to get the rest of these “trees” done
