Married to my husband for over 50 years and raising 7 children has given me the time to work with many animals and sewing projects. We live on a mini farm in the Pacific Northwest with just 6 acres and a very few fiber animals who now include our Great Pyrenees – another fiber animal.
As the children grew, we spent a lot of time in 4H and added skills.
Having learned to knit as a child, I became interested in spinning some of the fibers grown here. We started with sheep, then added Angora goats and rabbits. During this time, we have also been entertained by some non fiber animals – the obligatory chickens, geese, ducks, and turkeys .
When the children were grown, I learned to quilt. Now I want to work with and share many of the skills I’ve acquired.
Since our diet is plant-based, we are learning to grow much of our food. So from time to time, I’ll be sharing that with you as well.
